Yucca rigida

Mexican Blue Yucca

OVERVIEW:

Yucca rigida, also known as the Mexican Blue Yucca, is a drought-tolerant, evergreen shrub or small tree that is native to Chihuahuan Desert in Northern Mexico.  This powder blue yucca is perfect for large low water use landscapes.  As the older foliage on this plant dies, it lays flat against the trunk of the plant, forming a thick thatch that is also called a skirt.   Like most yuccas, its flowers attract insects such as butterflies and moths.
