OVERVIEW:

Verbena rigida (Slender Vervain) is a tuberous, herbaceous perennial that spans across a large portion of the continental United States. Originally from Brazil and Argentina, this showy plant clusters in the late spring and displays vibrant, fragrant purple flowers on angular light-green stems. It is highly desirable by an array of pollinators, including but not limited to bumblebees, hummingbirds, honeybees and butterflies. It is heat-tolerant, making it a viable option for desert gardeners.
