Pistacia 'Red Push'

Abstract:

Pistacia ‘Red Push” (hybrid of Pistacia atlantica and Pistacia integerrima) is known for its resilience while also providing a full range of spectacular colors within its spreading canopy. Compound leaves with 10-16 leaflets mature to a hearty dark green while new growth emerges bright red. Colder months bring an array of reds, oranges, and yellows. The depth and intensity of these fall colors will depend on how quickly cold temperatures arrive and the duration of these temperatures. This hybrid pistachio tree is considered ornamental which means it produces no nuts. Flowers are inconspicuous and female trees produce small seeds not typical fruit.  Established trees are highly drought and cold tolerant and can adapt to a wide variety of soils. Plant in full sun and provide moderate irrigation to increase growth rate.
