Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ (O’odham Land), Katie Ann Franklin (she/her) brings to V&P Nurseries over 10 years of strategic marketing and visual storytelling experience. She has worked in both the creative and logistical arenas for local and national political campaigns, offering unique problem-solving methodologies and accessible engagement practices for veteran and start-up digital media teams. Her intersectional approach toward creative processes and reconciled dissonance allow her to contribute toward spaces of opportunity and support local leadership in the realms of art, education and sustainability.

Trained under the mentorship of Mary Stephens (Arizona State University, BNAR) and the late two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Nick Oza, Katie Ann’s work has been featured in both online and print publications, including The Arizona Republic, The Guardian, Phoenix New Times, Hola! News, EFE International, BuzzFeed, Reuters, and The Los Angeles Times. She currently leads the nursery’s marketing, education and outreach initiatives, and facilitates the H-2A International Work Program alongside Daniel Espinoza, Jorge Villegas and Priscila Chavira.

Her botanical credentials include Arizona Landscape Certified Professional (ALCA), Arizona Nursery Certified Professional (ANA), Sustainable Landscape Management (ALCA), International Certified Arborist (ISA), California Certified Botanist (California Native Plant Society) and is an active member of arboriculture societies in both Spain and Germany.

Katie Ann is also a 2023-2024 recipient of an Arizona Commission on the Arts Research and Performance Grant funding her visual storytelling addressing the intersection of US immigration politics and agriculture.
